Excellent 4ins x 8ins portrait photograph of a RNAS officer standing in uniform, strange Army style tunic with Pilot’s metal wings worn over left breast pocket, peaked cap with large bullion badge, metal eagle in centre. Excellent condition, in original studio folder of a Redhill photographer.

y1479: ROYAL AIRFORCE PAIR OF PHOTO ALBUMS, TOGETHER WITH ORIGINAL PROGRAMMES FOR HENDON AIR SHOW 1926 AND 1928

Magnificent pair of albums produced to far higher quality than is normally found in British military photo albums, with extra artwork and captions describing the types of aircraft, names of pilots. The 1926 Hendon album containing 70 photos, also covers the Royal Airforce Pageant 1927 and the Graf Zeppelin’s first visit to England in 1930 and the R100 and R101. The second album contains 68 photos, including the 1927 Schneider Cup winner, the Supermarine S5 Seaplane. In the group there is in addition the 1929 Cranwell College Journal. Very good condition.

y1482: FLEET AIR ARM OFFICER’S GREATCOAT

Dark blue very fine quality heavy serge material, gilt buttons, shoulder straps with Sub Lieut. “wavy” rank insignia and “A” for Air Branch; Portsmouth tailor’s label named to Sub Lieut H. Layton and dated November 1940. Very good condition Worn by Lieut. H. Layton, awarded 1939 Star/Burma Star/Italy Star/Defence Medal/War Medal for WW2.
